PRINCETON CONSERVATION COMMISSION
MINUTES FOR MEETING
                       March 17, 2015
PRESENT:  
John Vieira, Susan Mitchell, Holly Palmgren, Ron Thompson, Dave Caporello and Brian Keevan from the PCC were in attendance as well as Larry Todd and Brett Trowbridge associate members.

MEETING:
John Vieira called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm.

OLD BUSINESS:

  • No Notice of Intent has been received as of yet for the Route 140 work.  PCC would like the applicant to refile for this project due to no NOI filed as yet.
NEW BUSINESS:

  • A Notice of Intent was filed by Northland Engineers, Inc. for Martha Upton for 1 Rhodes Road, Princeton for septic system replacement for existing single family home within 100’ buffer zone.   Valarie Sibley gave a presentation for Northland Engineers for the NOI for DEP File No. 267-0379.  The wetlands were delineated in June of 2013.  An infiltrator system will be installed with work beginning as soon as the weather breaks.  PCC would like to do a site visit as soon as weather permits.  PCC voted to continue this project to the April Meeting.
  • Kenny Whitney presented Emergency Culvert repairs (3) for the Princeton Fire Department for Old County Road as a result of the Paradise Pond Project.  A site visit took place on March 14, 2015 with Kenny Whitney from Princeton Fire Department, John Vieira, Susan Mitchell, Brian Keevan from the PCC in attendance.   Brian Keevan recued himself from this project.  DCR has agreed to do the work repairs for the 3 culverts on Old County Road as a Fire Department project.  Daniel Beavais the engineer and Allen Orsi from DCR attended the meeting as well as Kenny Whitney from the Fire Dept.  Work will begin in April at the earliest.  DCR will be working on pulling a NOI together for the April meeting.   The Fire Department would like a hydrant pipe out of the pond at the gate to install a hydrant.  DCR would like this to be an amendment to the Paradise Pond Project.
  • John Vieira attended a meeting with the Board of Selectmen that is looking at the Town Boards and Commissions regarding the number of members on the different Boards.  John Vieira strongly wants to keep the PCC at 7 voting members.  He also spoke to them about the Culvert Study that U Mass is willing to do with the help of the PCC members.  The Ecologic Restoration Program is willing to help with the training and Nancy McGrath DCR is interested in bring in other towns for the project also.
  • John Vieira, Brian Keevan and Susan Mitchell all attended the MACC Conference.
  • Brian Keevan spoke to the commission regarding Forest Cutting Plans, he would like to be notified as soon as the plans arrive.  There is a 10 day window for comments from the PCC.
  • The 4-Corners Lease payment from Craig Stimson was received.
